Does anyone here use Lightroom or Photoshop on a vertical monitor? Does it work well, or does the interface become clunky with repositioning of tools & panels? Or does you put tools on a separate monitor?
I've always pondered the idea, but my cable management doesn't have sufficient slack for my current BenQ monitor.
Debating VESA mount or normal stand for a new Apple Display DR, with long enough cables to accommodate rotating.
If you want to see how it might work, you can briefly configure the computer to show the screen in vertical orientation and see where the tools and panels go.
Just turn your head or take a picture... and make sure your health insurance covers neck injuries
I use a rotated display on occasion but my reliance on a dual monitor setup allows me to keep my tools/pallets on one and my rotated work on the other.
Vertical display rarely helps me in Lr or Ps. I do use a vertical display regularly for other work. The main Lr grid view doesn't work well vertically. You could probably reconfigure the panels to fit better. Vertical view is handy on a secondary screen for Lr comparisons or to lock a reference image there while working on the primary screen.
If your main screen is big enough, you can put both Lr windows on the same display.
Thanks all for the insight! I ended up going with the XDR display with the stand. Figured it wasn't worth the extra cost of a VESA arm for the few use cases of going vertical. But perhaps if I want to go vertical in the future, I'll get a second XDR that is VESA compatible...$$$$ haha
