Sun-n-Sand used to be a motel in downtown Jackson. Due to it's close proximity to the State Capitol building, it was in it's prime back in the past. The motel got closed sometime in 2001 or 2002 and was empty as I long I knew of this building. State bought that building and wanted to build a parking lot for State employees around downtown. It was met with outcry and finally part of it was demolished and rest was preserved.
I had been wanting to take a photo of this sign for a long time and I thought it makes a very good candidate for this week's assignment. This was taken during the morning blue hour just a few minutes before the Sunrise (early morning glow visible on the bottom right corner).
PS: Edited photo for some minor adjustments and grammatical corrections.
Thanks Pieter, indeed. I had to wait for the shot to be taken during the morning blue hour. Amped it up a bit in post, but not crazy, just a notch.
