p.1 #1 · Using Filmlab

I'm happy with NLP and didn't want to spend the money on Capture One but wanted to try a different conversion software for some variety so I decided to give Filmlab a try. It wasn't particularly expensive and it helps support improvements in scanning software.

My question is, can I import directly from the camera into Filmlab? All I have seen is import from a file and if I'm going to be using Lightroom to import from the camera which doesn't make it much of a "stand alone". If I'm missing something any advice would be appreciated.

It looks like Filmlab truly is 'stand-alone', i.e. all it does is convert files for you. Copying them from your camera to your PC is up to you.

'Importing' files is only a thing for software that keeps a catalog of said files (like LR).

I tried it and canceled my subscription. Apparently they're after the crowd that scans their negatives with a smart phone.
