Sorry, Gary,I was unclear. For images such as 4,5, 7, and 12, the water background has turbulence and is not sufficiently blurred to place the emphasis on the bird and catch vs. bird, catch, and background. As I said, these are all great catches, but the I try to cull ruthlessly to share only the best of the best.
I'll be posting some soon from a recent trip to Florida so you can return the favor!

All good. I get it. A major downside with the M4/3 sensor is exactly what you describe, the DOF issues for these types of shots. I knew that going in and if I were a younger man I wouldn't have made the switch from Nikon Z to OM System. So I take the good with the bad and just try to keep busy and enjoy myself. I truly appreciate your input and perspective. Looking forward to your Florida shots !

I’m really enjoying these Gary ! I can only image how thrilling and exciting to see and capture. 7 and 13 are my favorites as the dark background really accentuates the bird . (I totally understand that getting these types of shots, the background is not in your control . Just being put there and gettting anything would be great !)

Thank you Birdie. Yes, spending a day on the river was very enjoyable. Watching the Herons, Cormorants, and waiting for an Osprey dive, what could be better
