When I first saw the bird I could not ID it as the colors are so brilliant and that's not the way I'm used to seeing a Yellow-rumped. Eventually I saw the spot on it's rear and did some research to discover it's a male in mating colors. It's quite striking like this.
There were other wobblers at Oakland Lake here in New York City, a clear sign that they are returning.
