I have been watching the comet in Tucson each morning rise above the Catalina mountains. It takes nearly 30 min from when it rises above the horizon before it clears the mountains for its Kodak moment. The first photo was a bit of fun experiment with a 1954 vintage 50 mm Thorium summicron on a Leica M11 EV1. Just curious how it would do. The second two photos were captured with a Z8 and 135 mm Plena that is a great lens for this type of photography. Last photo obviously isn't a scenic but shows the comet close up for comparison and in its glory using an Astrophysics 110 mm refractor that has wonderful optics and a Nikon Z8. For me the comet is gone- it gets light before it rises above the mountains and will likely be too low in the sky after it rounds the Sun so I think it is goodbye comet for me, until the next one.
