I usually have a 1/8 Filter from K&F Concept on my lenses. The effect is subtle enough. 1/4 for daily use can be too much, but it depends on what you are shooting and it is easy to ruin an otherwise good image.
When shooting during the evening or night, you can get reflections from the filter on your image as well. Something to be aware of
Interesting that you use the 1/8 filter all the time. I got a 1/8 filter and am eager to give it a try. Not sure how/when I will use it, but it will be something new and different for me.
I figured if I were to use a Filter, I might as well use one with a subtle effect and one I can set and forget. UV filter is fine, a clear filter would probably be better, the CPL is too much fiddling for my taste and that leaves me to a pro mist filter. 1/4 is fairly strong, but right conditions and it will look good. 1/2 is too strong for my taste, but whatever helps you get your creativity out is perfectly fine
You could also pick between a pro mist filter and for example a Tiffen Glimmerglas. That filter does not bloom the Highlights as much as a pro mist filter, but softens the image. You could always do that in editing software, but it is fun to figure out your own creativity. Enjoy your filter

Thanks for your usage and for your additional suggestion for another filter. Happy Shooting!
