i was out this morning at kankakee wildlife reserve and saw a pair of swans in the same area that i had seen them last summer.
i had seen them one day last week. i was surprised to see the female swan on the nest. this is the first time i have seen a swan nest. i did an online search on length of time for swan eggs to hatch in a natural setting and the average is 36 days. she wasn't on the nest last week, so i'll have to keep a watch for next month and hopefully will get some nice photos of the baby swans. her mate was swimming close by keeping a watch on things.
thank you for looking at my pictures. i was surprised by the size of the nest. it would be exciting to get pictures of the baby swans while they are small. thank you for your comments.
