According to participant's sightings, Journey North reports that Monarchs are in New York State already (May 1, 2026...(and 2025)

They don't appear in my southern Maine wildflower garden (established in 2014) until mid-July.

After the West Coast Monarchs crashed, I got some milkweed seeds to start a patch for the butterflies (and hummingbirds).

Chicago area, as of the last two weeks I've seen mouring cloaks and tiger swallowtails that's about it. The osprey are here and nesting and the warblers are slowly showing up. Gold crown kinglets too.
