p.1 #2 · Help solve the mystery, how did my shutter count get reset?
I have no idea!
I think the first thing I would do, is to upload to another, different shutter count website and see if the result comes back the same. If it does, that will be a real head-scratcher!

How many photos did you take with this camera after you had the shutter serviced in 2021? Did they have the old shutter count? I believe Nikon resets the counter when they put in a new shutter.

I did. I have uploaded to multiple website and viewed the EXIF data myself.
Somehow my shutter count was reset between June 25th, 2023 & June 29th, 2023.

That's the problem I never had the shutter replaced.
I bought it in 2020 from someone here. After checking my .NEFs the first shot I took the shutter count/EXIF read 380K which makes sense now that I think of it.
In 2021 the camera started having an issue with exposure, I can't remember what exactly and took it to Authorized Photo Service to be repaired since I can physically go there and because they use to Nikon's midwest repair center.
I thought maybe they had replaced the shutter but looking at the original invoice and looking at my .NEFs after they worked on it, they were still in the 380Ks
And then I followed all my files up until June 25th, 2023 where it read 406K and then the next .NEF I have on June 29th, 2023 reads 182.

A service center can reset the camera's shutter count. Sometimes that happens when the mainboard is replaced or for other reasons. It doesn't really mean anything.

EBH
Except I didn't have it serviced in 2023.
I had it serviced in 2021. Originally I thought that this had reset the shutter count and it explained for the low shutter count.
But after having gone through my files, I confirmed it had not.It remained the same and kept counting up until June of 2023 where it all of a sudden reset.
