Catalan Mordernista/Modernisme was such an interesting burst of architectural creativity. It was real fun wandering around the city to see notable works (and lesser known ones). True to your statement of this place being a treasure, it's listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

I don't remember much but a calçotada on the streets of Ciutat Vella is a lot of fun.
