at the Marine Nature Study Area in Oceanside, New York. It's a little pond about 30 feet from the main trail and a faverate place to photograph wading birds. My legs were in front of me as I sat on the thin flat rock with my camera on my tripod as low as I could have it and still see over the grass. I used my LCD to compose environmental shots on this cloudy morning. These are some of the visitors to the pond.
I'm always impressed by what these smaller shore birds manage to pick up to eat... sometimes small fry of much larger fish, little sea worms and stuff, you just never know, but they seem to ingest it all with no problem.
