p.1 #1 · Part 2 Morning Walk, meet Chip, my new friend
A few more from my morning walk around the local preserve.
This is my new friend Chip the River Otter... I dubbed him that when I saw his chipped tooth

Scared the heck out of me when he first popped up, snorted and barked almost like a dog... at first I thought it was a gator until I turned to look at him... I'm always cautious in Florida around the banks of any body of water.

He was very curious about me and kept popping up closer and closer, almost made me wonder if humans had been feeding him, or he was being territorial?

Not sure if it was yelling at me or calling its mate...or warning me about Chip? Heh

Wet fur moving in the water is a challenge but wow these are excellent Eric Great choice on comp on #3 IMO, really beautiful image!
Last one has a good feel to it with the darkened bg too.

Nice captures, Eric!
'Chip' looks to me like he's trolling for snacks -- maybe you could train him to sit and roll over.
That's a fine GBH shot too!
Greg
Thanks Greg! Yeah, made me wonder who's been feeding Chip already... I've heard they can be pretty aggressive, so I'll just treat him like a gator and give him his space.

Excellent set Eric. That must have been some hard candy that Chip ate.
Morris
Hah! You know it Morris, that hard candy was probably an apple snail shell or something harder that looked edible but wasn't.

Chip is the reason why otters now use stones on shellfish.
The reflections in 3 are stunning
Hah! I know I've seen sea otters do that... maybe they need to chat with cousin Chip? Thanks for the kind words.

Had no idea there were river otters in Florida
They are shy, but some mornings or at dusk you can find the odd one out.
