I really like inverted tripods, was hoping for a Versa-33i. Still digesting this new Benchmark inverted. It has Series 3 tubes (by RRS standards) but a fairly light weight bearing capacity.
I picked up the Versa-43i, which I love, and plan to sell my TVC-22i. I was hoping for a clone of the Versa-43i with one size smaller tubes. Which the Benchmark Inverted is....but I was sort of expecting the standar RRS carbon and the 2 series apex like the 22i and 43i. But I'm going to give the Benchmark Inverted a shot. I did want a lighter inverted, more of a beater tripod. So many this value line fits the bill well enough.

I am sure the quality is top notch, but in this day and age of excellent tripods at 1/3 the price (or less) I am not going to even consider them.
I've always been happy with my RRS tripods and have some sentimentality for companies trying to do both design and manufacturing in the US. May be silly, but as long as the quality is high, I don't mind spending a bit more. Can't fault you though, camera equipment is not cheap.

If they are like most RRS sticks, either short or tall, nothing in between.

So what is your goldilocks height range then? I get you didn't look at them, but curious what your desired height range is (since you took the time to post.)
