I took my first trip to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge a few weeks ago and here's a handful of photos from being there. I'd definitely like to go again since there's so much there to explore.
I did notice something a bit frustrating but interesting. It had been pretty warm the prior few days and the ground was still very warm but a cold front rolled in with a lot of wind. I could see the air turbulence from that cold wind mixing with the hot ground just 50-100ft away and between that and the wind it did make a lot of my attempts to get photos difficult.
