Open daylight scenes in the redwoods are filled with intense contrasts of dark trunks and bright vegetation. But if the light is just a tad softer, like here filtered by haze, it can work.

This is one of my favorite spots on the "back side" of the Lady Bird Johnson Trail in Redwood National & State Parks. Taken around 1pm in mid-Sept, 2021.

Look closely at the base of the large redwood just left of center and you'll see two women standing beside it. Second image is a crop on them and base of tree.

Camera was Fuji GFX100S with 23mm f4 lens
