p.1 #1 · Elf Owl in and out of nest

Doing some birding with my son in SE Arizona in the Chiricahua mountains area. With the help of a guide we were treated to this little guy (5 3'4 inches tall) both when it peeked out of its nest to see if it was dark as yet (almost dark hence funky IQ) and later after dark, when we found nearby presumably the same Elf Owl.
