This lens comes from the collection of my late stepfather, Richard Jordan. Richard was an accomplished painter and lifelong artist who developed a fascination with Leica cameras and lenses later in life. While he would have been the first to admit that photography was not his strongest artistic medium, he deeply appreciated Leica's design, engineering, and mechanical precision. As a result, he assembled an extraordinary collection of Leica equipment, much of which was lightly used and carefully stored.
The 50mm focal length remains one of the most versatile perspectives available, making this lens equally at home for portraits, travel, documentary work, and everyday photography. The Summicron-M 50mm f/2 has earned its reputation as a lens that many Leica photographers keep for life.
