I'm picking smaller manual lenses for every-day-carry. Bodies on which I'll test lenses are a Sony A7R5 and an XPro-2.
Especially on the Sony system my 35mm f1.4 and 24mm f1.4 GMs are giant eyeballs that instantly turn heads. So big they look like telephotos to some. Fuji lenses not so much -- for the Fuji I happily use the original 35mm f1.4. I have their 18mm f2 (original) for wide and discreet but it's nothing special optically or character-wise.
Reading Fred's reviews of the Thypoch 21mm f3.5 Ksana and Voigtlander Color Skopar 21mm f3.5 he gave the Color-Skopar the win for sharpness. OK, but I'm going to put whatever 21 I buy in front of that Sony body. I was interested to see that Fred showed the Thypoch results were not ruined by the Sony's thicker sensor. Philip Reeve's write-up demonstrated the same.
Unanswered was: since one of these two have to be adapted to my e-mount, which is sharper in center (and half field) on that sensor?
I know that both turn into about 30mm on APSC. That's a good walk-around focal length, too...
Can't say about sharpness, but in my brief experience with Thypoch, it can't handle flare at all. Things can get pretty bad if bright light source is on edge of frame or just outside of it.
As for sony sensor stack, my understanding is that the impact is on the edges of frame and if you are onky concerned about center and midframe, the impact should be minimal.
Just Luv my E-mount 21mm f3.5 Color Skopar on my Sony 61MP bodies, my copy is excellent and very sharp. Here is a link to a (old) post, taken with my A7RIV, showing the sharpness.
Currently have the C/V 18mm F2.8 CS and 27mm F2 Ultron for my Fuji X-T5 (most times paired with the XF 35mm f1.4 too). Being pancakes, neither is quite as brilliant as the 21mm F3.5 CS IMHO, but that's OK as the diminutive size is so nice!
Really enjoying the 27mm Ultron as a general carry round (40MM EQ) and because of it I am currently torn between adding the C/V 35mm f2 APO or the new pancake sized 40mm Septon f2 to the 21mm f3.5 for my A7CR. 3rd lens is my 8 year old 55mm Zeiss f1.8 ZA. Since the Sony setup is used for higher resolution, I will probably go for the 35mm APO as results I have seen are pretty stunning.
