Well I went to NAS Meridian today to see the Blues and others. Logistics were terrible. Once at the field we were in line for over 2 hours and never lade it through security. Ended up in a field outside. WE were so far away from the flight line I have no idea if I have any keepers. I was sad as this was the maiden voyage for the new 200-800. Oh well, there is always another show.
For me I do not greet you with "Happy".......It is SAD..still!
President Reagan said it best!....See below
Thank YOU To ALL Who Have Served! To ALL Patriots...THANK YOU! I know that there are members from different Countries that served their Country! THANK YOU also! Italy and Great Britian I know of...or that I can REMEMBER.

The perks of running your own business.....it's 2:14am and I just wrapped up the new promo video for my 777 client. Four minutes long and it took 8 hours to compose it.

Very sorry to hear that, Joe. It happened with the show at NAS Cherry Point in 2024 too. I got in early so it wasn't an issue for me. But folks lined up for miles outside the entrance, waiting for hours to get in. Many of them just turned around and left. Those who got in missed part of the show. This year they said they hired a traffic expert to plan the traffic management. Hopefully it will work out.
A side note, I just received a notification from the A2A organizer, the skyvan they were going to fly for Sun N Fun has some mechanical issues that can't be solved in time for the show. The A2A project is now cancelled. I may still go to Sun N Fun for the sunset show. They have some planes that I have never seen before.
"APPROVED ITEMS
Cameras, Video Cameras, Camera Bags, and Tripods
Small camera bags will be allowed, but are subject to be searched. Tripods will also be allowed.
Camera lenses up to 200mm focal length."
200mm max NAS Oceana had the same restriction for several years, I didn't bother to go. I was planning to go to Cherry Point in May but in no way I am going to drive six hours to try my luck. I bought reserved seats before they put out the rule. Hope I can get a refund.
These shows are going to realize that they are shooting themselves in both feet. Photo pit sales and VIP seating will plummet. Circuit of The Americas in Austin doesn't allow cameras with interchangeable lenses supposedly, very little point in going IMHO.

I don't know Jim. I am just guessing about 90% of the airshow attendees use phones or small cameras. I certainly won't go with that kind of restriction, unless there is a unique plane that I have never seen and the show is less than an hour drive away. I joked on my friend's FB page that a 600mm lens could kill 200% more people than a 200mm lens. He has media credential so maybe the restriction doesn't apply to him.
I doubt that it does, my credentials have never had a restriction on cases or lens lengths and I have shot on about every military installation in the country. Chandler and I are headed to The JRB in a week or so to shoot for The Spads and they specifically told me to "bring all the gear".
