Hello everyone! I\'ve been MIA again I know. I\'ve been busy with work and travel spending time up and down the North Eastern and North Western parts of our country. I thought I\'d share some shots from what little down time I had. I hope you like them!
0. I thought I\'d start with a first for me. Mama and baby American Oystercatchers! (Courtesy of Morris)
1. Here we are at Nickerson Beach. I had so much damn fun Morris! I thank you for taking me to this wonderful place!
2. At the beach we were able to get me some firsts! American Oystercatcher adults taking care of newborn babies!
3. The curiosity of newborn chicks was surely heartwarming.
4. The protective parents were always close by.
5. The mother would break open crabs and feed the youngster tidbits. So cute!
6. Then I met up with another FMer (lurker) Mark later in the afternoon! We got a chance to shoot some low low angle Black Skimmers and Plovers!
7. This is how you get low.... yes we were shooting from the parking lot!
8. The results?
9. Oh yeah!
10. Piping Plover, another first and endangered little bird!
11. Cute little bugger!
12. Then I was off to the Pacific Northwest to shoot with Bonnie, Cris and Bruce!
13. We waded at low tide into the exposed oyster beds where the Bald Eagles took advantage of Great Blue Heron\'s fishing for Sculpin. It was quite a show!
14. Unfortunately I only had opportunities to shoot during my downtime, which was during the worst light of the day.
15. Lots of young Eagles all around!
16. The darn sun was too bright. Can\'t say that too often in the PNW can you? I blew out just about every white feather. I\'ll be back again next year during better light!
17. The close quarter shooting sure made for a ton of fun!
18. At times I didn\'t know what to point at!
19. Lots of dives!
20. Lots of fighting over fish.
21. Lots of mid-air course corrections!
22. More dive shots than I had memory for!
23. Unfortunately every one needed a lot of PP to get the dark underbelly exposed right while trying my best to recover the white feathers.
24. There was a lot of Eagle vs Eagle action
25. Tons of low angle grab shots!
26. The Juvi\'s were far more entertaining as they were pretty relentless in the dives for fish!
27. They were also much less fearful of being close to me. This was full frame!
28. Lots of full frame adults too!
29. One last Juvi!
30. This is a 12 image pano of the best Eagle shooting I\'ve ever been. Thanks again Bonnie for taking me here!
