The price will be right, right through the roof!
I'm really hoping the guys that have reported inside sources within Canada saying ~$3500CDN are correct and not NR that reports $4300 USD....those prices are so far apart that someone is so far off it is just silly.
Most products are selling at 30-40% in CDN over USD so a $3500CDN would make it a $2600USD lens (way to cheap IMO)....on the other hadn't a $4300USD price would give something like $5800 CDN.
I'M planning on the $4300 number FWIW.
I'm thinking 2x the price of the 300mm f/4 PF (about $4000 +/-). This would be in line with the pricing of the faster glass, as the 500mm f/4E is about twice the price of the 300mm f/2.8G vII
Anyone know the predicted release date?... 2018?...
I think it will be in 2018. I think sometime during the Photokina madness Nikon will release full specs, price and release date. I'd give a totally speculative guess of getting it in one's hands late October or November.
I believe it will show September to October 2018.
Made a mistake with my math in my thread on price and weight. This upcoming 500 will be 166% longer than the 300 PF. I simply will multiply the 300 PF's price of $2000 by 166% and come up with roughly $3300.
I will *guess* the new Nikon 500 5.6 PF will not be more than $3500 USD.
You there image master?
