So TC with dumb adapters and lenses would work! A curiosity of mine has been answered!

Fred, Could you try to trip the shutter with only a TC (no other tube or lens) attached?

When mounting the TC only, it works
When mounting the TC + extension tube, it works.
When mounting the TC + extension tube + lens, I can't trip the shutter....

I tried it with the CV 110, Batis 135 and FE 85/1.4 GM. Not sure what's happening here..

Yes. I just tried my Sony 1.4X Teleconverter with my Novoflex Leica R to NEX adapter and my Leica R 100mm f2.8 Apo-Macro-Elmarit lens. It was relatively close and shot wide open with very little DOF. Seems sharp in the center area where focused and would need to stop down for holding more of the image. Will need to experiment for full field.

Image below taken of my wife Carol's handiwork (she is a seamstress). Image taken with tripod mounted Leica R 100mm f2.8 Apo-Macro-Elmarit lens, Novoflex Leica R to NEX adapter and Sony 1.4X Teleconverter, stock A7r, ISO 100, lens set to f2.8 (I am not sure of the effective aperture due to how close to the subject, but without correction would be f4 with the Teleconverter) and 0.8 sec. Image taken right out of the camera with no post processing except color adjustment to Tungsten. With this set-up should be able to focus to infinity. By the way, the lens can not be used with the Leica R 1.4X Apo extender, but I can use it with the Sony 1.4X Teleconverter (without the usage of an extension tube) due to the usage of the dumb Novoflex adapter between the lens and the Teleconverter.
