I haven't seen a hummingbird in a couple of weeks. Four days ago, a few migrants passed through and visited for a bit.
Haven't seen them today, so they may have headed on to another stop along the way.
I can't really express how wonderful it was to get to spend some time with them.
I don't know if others have an issue following these small quick birds in the viewfinder like I do. I was constantly taking my eye from the viewfinder and hearing myself say where did it go ?? Consequently , I would miss opportunities. This week, I tried the Olympus Dot Sight . I was skeptical , but willing to give it a try. Much to my surprise it opened up a whole new viewing experience. I could see the area and where they went !. I know my application ( small birds /bees with lots of foliage ) is not typically what most bird photographers would use it for . However expanding my field of view certainly helped me.
As always your nits , suggestions and comments are most appreciated.
