Peregrines at Torrey Pines

A Peregrine Falcon pair are nesting on the cliffs at Torrey Pines State Park again this year. They appear to me to be tending eggs, although some of the people on the beach believe some chicks have hatched. The female is at the next most of the time. The male shows up once in a while with food that he transfers to her. These shots are all from the beach below the cliffs and are all of the female, who is tagged 16-AC. The male is also tagged, 00-BA.

Although there is some good activity now the real fun starts when the eggs hatch and then really gets intense when they fledge.

I am very pleased with the bird eye AF of the A1. A large fraction of the shots trigger the eye AF so the keeper rate is pretty high.
