I am interested in this lens for use with a Sony a7r4 at f8-11.
I currently use a Minolta M-Rokkor 2.8/28mm which I really enjoy. I am happy with its performance on a Sony. It is good enough for me...
I am thinking that this Voigtlander 28mm is more modern with more elements so is more corrected and better with flare? I shoot alot of backlit scenes. I feel the Rokkor has a 'look' to it - someone said 'moody' - I like this but sometimes want a different look.
So how is this 28mm on a Sony? I will only be using this stopped down...
Thank you.
Hi,
I also have a Minolta CLE MC 28mm f2.8 M-Rokkor lens without the white spots. I normally have used the lens on my Kolari Vision modified cameras where performs better than the stock cameras. I will be selling this lens in the not too distant future when the temperatures cool on the FM Boards.
I use the Voigtlander 28mm f2 Ultron II Asph VM lens on my Kolari Vision UT sensor modified camera and it has already replaced my Leica R 28mm f2.8 Elmarit V2 which I sold recently on the FM Buy/Sell boards. The Voigtlander is better performing on the Kolari Vision UT sensor modified cameras than the Minolta 28mm M-Rokkor. But the Minolta lens is much smaller and much lighter.
I can not say how the Voigtlander performs on the stock A7rIV, but Fred can and has posted images.
I am posting my first image that I posted earlier comparing the size of the Leica 24mm f3.8 Asph., Minolta CLE MC 28mm f2,8 M-Rokkor, Voigtlander 28mm Ultron II Asph VM, and the Leica R 28mm f2.8 Elmarit V2.
The second image is cross posted in the Sony FE Image Thread and taken late yesterday afternoon at 5:58 PM.
