I think Sony now has 4 35mm primes in production. None at the time of the RX1 OG was released. They also have zooms in the range, and now there’s so much 3rd party options. And their Zeiss partnership seems dormant. Plus, I’d think they need a significant redesign—for the lens for faster AF, and the mechanical issues, IBIS, EVF and a better battery.
Having said all that, it’s one of the best lenses I’ve ever shot, and I have been waiting for version 3 for years…Always just live the small size + lens combo.
