Tribute to Teresa: I suddenly found myself alone during my cypress dreams group workshop (which never happens) as everyone took off their own ways. Even the one remaining person I was gliding next to on the water, suddenly split off saying “I’m going this way.” Within about a minute, I coasted into this sublime scene and could not believe my eyes. Then when I saw this composition in some strange way it just called out to me. I stabilized my camera for a focus stack, took the shots and feeling a very palatable sense of strange peace, suddenly I got a text alert on my phone from my beloved niece, that my sister Teresa had just passed on!
Teresa was overcome by cancer, but fought the good fight of faith every step of the way! She was a huge mentor to me, a person of unconditional love and service to all (the broken, the bruised, the beat up and the bedraggled…) and she loved my photography.
This image is hers. It took me nearly 4 years to finally face going to the folder and processing it for her.
