philip_pj, You say that the 28 + 75 combination is the best that awaits us. But what should those who do not see the picture beyond 40 mm do? I have a 65 mm and I shoot with it very, very rarely, either full-length portraits or things that are out of reach, say, a sunset at sea... All because I do not see the picture with it. Absolutely.
I tried, I took only 65 mm, I spent whole days with it alone, even in the mountains. It does not work. I always want wider. There is always a thought that something is wrong.
Perhaps I do not quite correctly understand the purpose of 65 ... 75. I see that many people shoot fragments of architecture. I see the entire building, I do not like to single out fragments, unless they are windows and doors, old, beautiful, all in cracks, with crooked glass. I really like the photos taken with the C-Sonnar 50/1.5 and Nokton 75/1.5. I like both portraits and landscape photos. But I'm not sure that once I buy them, they won't just lie on the shelf.
Perhaps someday, I will be able to see as beautifully as the owners of these beautiful lenses.
But for now, I'm mastering 28mm. And I really like it
