Life has been busy between work, travel, and other things... but in the process I wound up picking up a S*** FX3 (sorry, I know, but I'd always had a bit of lust/curiosity for it).
Took it on a recent trip and I did enjoy the shooting experience, though of course I've come to learn there are tradeoffs. The FX3 feels better in some respects, while the R5II feels better in others (removing the obvious advantages in photo mode, which isn't even worth comparing).
If anything it shows me how good the R5II actually is as a hybrid and viable video camera, especially when stacked up against a camera that, for years, has been held in high regard by a lot of independent videographers and filmmakers.
Here are two rough comparison videos using a few quick clips I shot with each. Did my best to match everything, ranging from focal length, to settings and codecs (best non-RAW video codec either camera can offer).
Note: I mistakenly wrote in the first video that Noise Reduction on the R5II was OFF, while in fact it was not. It's the default noise reduction for C-Log 2 in Color Profile 2.
Again, extremely unscientific, and I'd like to do some more detailed comparisons when time allows... but thought I'd share.
Can you tell which one is which in the first video? Spoiler alert: I tell you at the end.

Here is a very rough comparison using a couple of quick clips I shot with each today. Did my best to match everything, ranging from focal length, to settings and codecs (best non-RAW video codec either camera can offer).
