Severe GAS and Compulsive Buying Disorder sufferer here. I've owned them all, and they're all great for different reasons.

On mirrorless bodies, Nikon's AF on the Expeed 7 bodies is fantastic. You won't miss anything from the Sony or Canon bodies, as long as you're comparing similar price ranges. I find the Z5 II AF slightly better than the R6 II and about the same as the A7 IV, and I have extensive shooting experience with all three. That's pretty impressive since the Z5 II a lot cheaper. If was shooting the Olympics, I'd get an A9 III, but I'm not.

In addition to the bodies, Nikon's lenses seem to punch WAY above their weight in each price category too. I'd highly recommend a Z5 II or Z6 III and a Z 50mm f/1.8 S to start. All three are the best anywhere near their price categories IMHO.

EDIT: Since you said you're a JPEG shooter and uninterested in RAW, a bonus is that Nikon bodies output fantastic JPEGs.
