When I tried that, if would not AF when I had the DOF preview button depressed. Perhaps a different button customization or mode would work (eg I don’t use back button focusing)
I just checked, and even with back-button focusing, the camera will not autofocus when DOF preview is engaged...
I have noooo idea why Canon won't change this behavior. None. It's soooooo confusing to me.
I remember when Sony released their 50mm f/1.2 and it had distortion that needed correcting and that it also wasn't quite 50mm either, more like 48mm.
And everybody made excuses!
Even at $450 the complaints go on and on for Canon.
Really makes a guy wonder what kind of reality this is.
