- Yeah…every brand except Canon offers something compelling. It takes Canon shooters 3 moves to shoot from the hip while looking down at the screen, while it takes only one move with the α1 or α7RIVa. Checkmate

“As I write this I’m contemplating doing an A7RVI preorder with my dealer at $100 discount and testing the hell out of it in the field in June (during the epic Roan Mountain wild rhododendron bloom), and if I end up selling it off I am comfortable marking the loss up as a rental fee.”
Dude I would rather throw my 400GM Prime into the ocean than ever step foot on Roan Mountain ever again. Those snowflakes at the Forest Service destroyed the coolest Shelter on the Appalachian Trail in 2023 by tearing down the Overmountain Shelter which is where you want to stay at before descending to 19E & Mountain Harbor (which has the best breakfast on the Appalachian Trail)
Luckily I was able to capture the Overmountain Shelter with 70-200GMII on the α7RIVa at sunrise fully lit with the sun at my back looking down at it from the Appalachian Trail and you can never get that shot ever again.
