I've been taking photos at Nickerson Beach for over 10 years and it's one of my faverate places to shoot as it's a nesting area for thousands of shore birds. The photographic opportunities are near constant and one is faced with the problem of too many great opportunities at the same time. Photography at Nickerson Beach is an incredible experience.
In this set I'm featuring Common Terns with photos taken from directly behind the roped off markers. Some were taken knelling behind my tripod and others on my belly. I moved into this location slowly allowing the birds to become used to me and as you will see I they were coming right up to me.
