Nice shot Mark, I don't think I would mind living around them but not with them I like photographing them but I keep my distance, this one looks like a Kodiak Bear and looks like he is a older bear missing teeth is this from a Zoo?, a good place to see and photograph them, a little cheaper on the pocket and safer.

Hi Norm, yes it is from the zoo and it is a Kodiak. Sounds like you have some experience with them. They are to be respected for sure. It reminds me of that recent post I saw here on FM with the close photography of the black bear. You are definitely taking a risk getting close to any bear. I remember a recent episode of "River Monsters" where the film crew were fishing and caught some large fish. Then over the hill a large Grizzly appeared and was interested in the fish. Those photographers and experienced crew wasted no time getting out of there.
