Another beautiful afternoon at the pond, my main target wasn't cooperative this day... I'll be back.

A couple of thoughts... as pretty and expertly shot as the Avocets are I'm partial to the Dowitcher, that one just jumped out of the monitor at me. The eye is sharp enough but... I'm betting that is in the dof and focus fell on the flapping area. Oh yes a minor and perhaps flawed critique but it's all I have to push you with!
The baby mallard is such a strong eye holder, wow it's hard to scroll past that shot. It's not JUST a cute duckling it is a wonderfully strong image.
Excellent work all around Kirk, I'm trying to nit but damn you make it soooooo difficult to be a cranky old curmudgeon!
The best BG of the pond anywhere that I've seen Kirk! The calm water is antiher added bonus. Of course, your consistency, your subjects and low angle approach made awesome shots every time! I do have a one-legged Avocet at our local pond too. Great series!
