That is a very long star trail. Nice work on getting something so long, it definitely takes on a whole other look when the streaks all connect up like that. Very colorful, I like what you got.
7.5 hours! Nice. My personal record is almost 5 hours, though that's on film. I appreciate how much patience and work is involved in making a shot like this happen. Whacky colors! Well done.
We all go crazy quite often, don't we? Wow, 7.5 hours! Somehow though the circles are not really circles!
Make sure next time your camera is set up dead on to have really circular motion!!!
Very nice indeed! Now can you explain the various colors?
BTW, where is this place? And from what time to what time?

Excellent. Long duration gives a unique look. I read somewhere that different stars have different colors and hence the effect.
My first attempt at star trails was a bust. I used a very low iso and longer duration. It came all black. Lesson learnt.

this is exceptionaly close to a true circle and only for one reason. the Nikon 14-24 lens which was used.
lens distortion is what is throwing you here, nothing to do with keeping the camera "dead on"
Love the final result and a labor of love for sure. It is such a different take on the normal star trails and the colors make it just pop! Did you have to edit out any random plane trails or anything?
I wondered about plane trails, but then that led me to...how did you get a battery to last that long, even with two batteries in my grip, I don't think my camera would shoot for that long.
Killer shot(s)! Kind of looks like a "portal" which reminds me of all the talk last year about the Mayan calendar and one of the theories of the Mayans returning to this dimension though such a portal....sweet!

The orange glow on the horizon is an international airport, i had to edit planes out of about half the shots, that was fun.
