I've been off FM for a while and have a ton of new images to share. Here's the first one. This was taken on the evening of March 13, 2013. It shows my son and I observing Comet PanSTARRS from the top of a sand dune on Cape Cod. It was shot with a 5D, 70-200L and remote shutter release. I will treasure this image forever... it was so wonderful being able to share this experience with him.
The image was NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) for March 18, 2013. It was also published on NBC News' Photo Blog and NASA's Spaceweather.com website.
Very cool shot indeed. No wonder it's been published by some groups. Good job with the creativity and with the composition. You and your son are clearly defined, nice job.
