That is a dazzling image - the detail in the water and the shadow areas give a sense of realism that mekes me feel as if I am standing there. Can't wait toncheck out the blog.
Very interesting choice of ss and it works. Wonder if you have both? Want to turn the camera just a hair to the left to balance out the comp a bit. Nice work sir.
Good Lord! I've been away from FM for a couple months. If this an example of what I've been missing out on, I'll never leave again. Jim, this is the most beautiful, dramatic landscape image I've seen in a long time. Bravo!

Thanks so much Aaron. I did get a slower shutter speed too. Though I was thinking while I was shooting that the faster shutter speed would work best, it's hard to tell sometimes while shooting, so I will typically take two other shots of a composition where I go slower also. The light was very fleeting as the sun was rising, so I didn't have much time to fool around though.
As for the composition, on the left there was a small hill rising, and also some parts of the bridge that I was shooting on were a concern, along with a cabin just to the left of that hill. So I didn't want to take in too much towards the left.
