It did come out well, but I find myself wanting to see him/her completely in the sun... his/her fur really lights up nicely in it. And those puppy dog eyes...
It is a really nice shot, but I think it would have been even much, much better if your shadow was right in the middle of the shot, even casting a shadow on the puppy.

Puzzled by this. You know that *is* his shadow right in the middle of the shot, casting a shadow on the puppy, right
I would love to see this *without* the shadow. That looks to be some incredible light, a shame to block any of it on the subject.
I used the 30-110 lens. a 9 week old puppy is super duper hard to get still. And yes the light was fantastic. didnt last for long.
the sunlight was getting broken up by a huge tree, so not only is my shadow a problem but the light on the wood pile was moving as the tree leaves/branches and sun moved.
This was my best shot, and thanks to this thread I will have something to think about when I try again.
I was surprised by the performance of the J1, this pic is 95% sooc(crop/sharpening/minor curve adjustment to add contrast)
