very nice pictures.
How did you manage to adapt Mamya Z lenses on the Hasselblad X1d?
Thanks.
Thank you for the compliments.
The answer to your query about how to use Mamiya RZ glass is the Cambo Actus; a series of modular view cameras capable of taking myriad camera bodies, medium format digital backs and all types of lenses from m42 mount to large format and a variety of SLR and other types of bayonet lenses, using a large variety of modular adapters for cameras, backs and lenses on the host Actus view camera chassis.
I have the Actus G, with an assortment of camera, mfdb and lens adapters, all interchangeable. I also have some other Mamiya RZ adapters for Nikkor F, Hasselblad V and Leica L mounts from Fotodiox, which I have used for years.
The Mamiya RB and RZ lenses are marvels of engineering and have those beautiful 70s, 80s and 90s colors I grew up looking at, all the print magazines were filled with their images, from fashion, to adverts and everything in-between. They are inexpensive and excellent for image making. They don't hold up to modern hyper-corrected lenses by aberration correction or line pairs per millimeter, but also there is no Zeiss Otus Soft Focus or 350mm or 500mm APO telephoto, either.
I have nearly the whole set of RZ glass as well as an RZ67 Pro IID. I encourage others to try the glass, they are nearly all uniformly great, with a few outstanding ones too.
The adapter you mentioned is a bit on the expensive side, besides that is too big for me. I have tried the Fotodiox one, but it did not work, they accepted to take it back and refund me. I see it is now no more available on their website.
I'll be waiting that someone else creates a working adapter. I have the RZ macro lens an many 645 Mamiya lenses, which I use on my Hasselblad.
Keep please sharing your pictures with the Mamiya glass.
