Andrew, 50 'Lux on my A7R is giving me grief in the extreme corners unless stopped down to at least f:4.0, and not really good even at f:5.6. I tried both a Novoflex and a Hawks' adapter. Do you have any shots where you can show better corner sharpness than that?
I will do more tests tomorrow, but in my f4 tests the corners are as good as the center... This is on Hawk's adapter.
Tonight I will try to catch a sunset, the clouds here are very promising.
One thing I noticed - 50 Lux is so much heavier than my 50 R Cron + adapter, it's crazy. All that talk about size etc,
it's really depending on the lens. 50 R Cron and 28 R v2 + adapters are both very close to the size of the native 55 FE.
The handling is excellent. Sure, they were big on 5N, but on A7R they are perfect IMO. Don't get carried away
that you only "have to" use RF glass. Also the Novoflex tripod ring for the Novoflex adapters is so convenient.
I might skip the RRS plate....
But this damn shutter is crazy loud, no excuses. No way to shoot any wildlife with this camera

As to the weight of the R 50mm Cron versus the M Lux, that was what I was trying to explain to Scott (Turnstyle) who has doggedly been pushing for the M Lux.
For me, I still want to add the RRS L bracket when released at least to use my M-mount lens (es) and possibly shorter length R lenses.
I am still going to try to shoot some wildlife with the A7r even with the shutter sound. Will see how it works. The animals may well get accustomed to the sound. I remember in the past shooting with my R cameras and the animals initially startled, but they became OK with it. I just shot single shots and never at any real burst rate.

Another example with the AF-S Nikkor 85/1.8 G (2012 model) on A7R:
Sharpness seems good, but that background is kind of weird... I don't know, very Canon/Nikon look. Strange.
It's really fun to see so many lenses here shot on the same camera. I think after the initial excitement period,
people will establish what the best glass on A7R really is. Many I've seen here are a bit gimmicky, not crazy about
Olympus lenses nor modern Canon stuff neither... The old Minoltas look way better.
I've been documenting the refurbishment of my company's old building. It's starting to come together but I miss all the old stuff. The first is with the Oly OM 21/3.5 and the rest with the 15/2.8 Distagon ZE and Metabones III on my A7R.

Umm, I don't understand this at all. I think it looks great. What lenses with that focal length give better bokeh at that distance?
hmm flipping back and forth between the two images i actually prefer the contax, though perhaps it could be due just to the larger aperture. the nikkor is certainly sharper though.
