I would love to enable the full resolution download but since the layout change in Flickr, I can't seem to find the settings for it.
If you happen to know please enlighten me.
The KH 40mm 1.8 I got was almost unusable with some gunk on the front element. It was just a freebie with some other stuff I bought on a garage sale. I cleaned the front element with some Zeiss lens cleaning wipes. I don't know if I damaged some coatings (which could affect IQ) but as far as I can see the front element now is clear.
I think you could get this for cheap if you wan't to check the lens out.
Btw, I could email you these photos if you'd like.
I have one but it is full of fungus, does anyone know which cameras usually come with it (because usually it is cheaper to buy camera + lens than the lens alone)
Thanks for the link. I followed you on Flickr so you'd be able to download the full size file.
My AR 40mm 1.8 came with an Autoreflex TC. I saw some on Ebay and some attached to TC's too. I think the TC I have here is still working but I don't have batteries for it for the metering so I didn't bother.
Would you mind sharing how you created the calibration shot for Flat-Field plugin?
Thanks! Here's what I did:
- open "notepad" on my monitor
- make it full-screen
- set camera to AWB and +1 EV
- hold camera up to screen so that it's not touching but is as close as possible, and parallel to the screen
- take a picture
HOWEVER - what I forgot to do was this, and I will be doing it tonight possible:
first:
- put on a lens that has no shading/vignette (eg short telephoto)
- do something similar but instead of taking a picture, use it to pick a custom white balance
- use that white balance for the above steps w/ the lens you want to calibrate
I think using AWB can have weird effects, if the camera adjusts for the magenta then it can get blue in the center, and the profile can include that.
My profile is OK for the CV15 and color, but if I try to use it to also fix the falloff, it's a complete disaster. It over-compensates and the color around the edges gets completely screwy.
FINALLY! I present the first picture I took w/ the camera outside the UPS pick-up location, followed by various others. All are Voigt 40 1.4 @ various apertures I don't really remember.
I dig this camera. A lot. I do not forsee getting rid of it ANY time soon! The amount of features are mind boggling. Glad to finally join the ranks:
ISO 6400... what noise? Also auto iso + fixed shutter = SO DREAMY
Juan - looking good! How are you finding your FE35 so far?

Congratulations Zachary, looking forward to seeing more from you.

Thanks! It was a bit of a debacle getting my copy but I sorted it out and B&H supplied it in the end. I see a snout in your avatar, here's one I snapped of my pooch:
Today I went out with some Canon FD wides. Here's the 20mm one. No distortion and corner correction or FF plugin. I have no Lightroom or ACR at the moment. Everything is done with the Sony software. I miss some tools though!
Do I need another lens in the 20/21mm range?

I was kinda intimidated by Adobe's instruction to use the same lens, f-stop, focal length, focal distance, etc. using a diffuser card. Your approach is much easier and your pictures definitely show that it's effective.
