Tell me, have you perfected timing the exposure or do you give the subject a short, continuous blast so you can pick the perfect feet position later?
Again, wow, great...

One more as seen on the street in Paris.
Excellent B&W from Europe, Eric! You have street photography eye and I admire your patience to change lenses when travelling!
From the Blue Angels rehearsal yesterday at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, just 30 miles from where I live. The F-35B was an unexpected bonus. I have been to this show many times because it's so close. I didn't use the 400-800mm this time because 400mm is too long at times at this venue.
I am beginning to wonder if I should start using a CPL for these?

Nice set Douglas!
Was that first shot a significant crop? Detail looks pretty good. Looks like you got a decent copy of the 200-600

Thank you Robert! Yes, the first picture is a pretty big crop. I will post the uncropped version tonight when I get home. I just felt funny the backseat was using his phone so I cropped it and posted it for sh*ts and giggles.
I bought this copy of the 200-600 few months ago as I wanted one to shoot video with. Yesterday was the first time I took it out to shoot anything, seems to be a sharp copy. I sold my very sharp 200-600 after I bought the 400-800. I emailed the buyer to ask if he should decide to sell it, I would buy it back from him, unfortunately, he sold it already. This current copy seems plenty sharp. I think sometimes we get fixated on pixel peeping as gear heads. Most of the newer lenses are plenty sharp and even if they are not tack sharp, a little post editing will take care of it.
Heading to the Naval Academy again in 10 minutes for today's real show. Yesterday's was the rehearsal.

Thank you very much! I haven’t done much street photography, but when in Paris it’s so fun to do. I haven’t used continuous shutter for street yet, so this one was a single exposure. I waited for him to center himself between the building frame lines.

Thanks Douglas! Always appreciate your feedback. Someday I’ll have to try an airshow. I’ll be sure to reach out to you for tips before I do. And yes, changing lenses on vacation is a pain! This last trip to Paris I had the 35GM on 80% of the time and switched it out with the 85/2 and 14/4 on occasion. This triplet worked very well.

A few more from the Sayang 85 1.4 in Asheville.
Love Wicked Weed IPAs! Perni-Haze is like hop candy to me 😍. I was in the Asheville region last month (Waynesville) but have not visited their brewery yet. Next trip.
