Yesterday I got a copy of the new 100-400L IS II so today I went to the beach to try with my 7D II.
I was very much impressed by the performance of the lens and the combo in general either with stationary subjects or IF ones. Here a few I just edited.

Fantastic stuff! Just the kind of shots I was waiting to see before I went ahead and bought the lens. Wow, I can't believe you got the sanderling in focus when it was flying at you!! I'm positive, there's no way my 7D could handle that - looking good for the 7DII!

Wonderful! I see this 7DII as an impressive body to work with and I am tickled to see the performance of the new 100-400 lens with and without a TC!

Thanky for sharing. Impressive sharpness and really nice photos too. Seems the new version of this lens will be the way to go for all who cannot justify the expense of the really big whites. Also, it appears a very harmonic package with the 7DII body even whith the TC.
