Fantastic images! I'm even more excited for my new 100-400II to arrive today!
Did all of these happen to be shot wide open? I'm particularly interested in the images with the 1.4x. It looks like hardly any sharpness or resolution was lost.
I'm waiting for UPS to arrive with mine today. The sharpness of these images is what I was hoping to see. In the past, I've missed a lot of shots because the subject was too close or the minimum focusing distance was too far for the small subject. I'm looking forward to playing with the new lens.

Fantastic stuff! Just the kind of shots I was waiting to see before I went ahead and bought the lens. Wow, I can't believe you got the sanderling in focus when it was flying at you!! I'm positive, there's no way my 7D could handle that - looking good for the 7DII!
Great work
Thank you, Ashley. I appreciate your comments

Thanky for sharing. Impressive sharpness and really nice photos too. Seems the new version of this lens will be the way to go for all who cannot justify the expense of the really big whites. Also, it appears a very harmonic package with the 7DII body even whith the TC.
Thanks! Yes, the performance of those combos is impressive

Thanks, Scott. These were taken all at f/8 and you do loose some resolution with the TC, especially in not so good lighting condition. Enjoy your new lens!
