Ancient Ancestral Puebloan Cliff Dwelling surviving the test of time. Built around 1200AD this structure is one of many beautifully preserved dwellings that line the cliffs of a remote west facing canyon located in the four corners area of the SW.
For the window light, I used a simple set up of just a headlamp wrapped in orange plastic. I played the lamp on the window sill and later in post removed it via content aware. Never light these ruins up with fire for obvious reasons.
I tried to leverage the last fleeting bounce light left that night before complete darkness. The super soft light made for easy PP, resulting in a nice color story of cyans, reds, oranges and magentas.
Wow. Lighting and framing nicely done. The only thing I struggled with was a sense of perspective. At first glance I thought maybe this was a cliff swallow's nest. But after reading the caption it was a "wow - that's neat!".
