I forgot this lens had a hood. I never use mine since the front element is so recessed.
Me too. The hood and front/rear caps immediately go back into the box never to be seen again until someday in the future if the lens is sold.
Also one of the few lenses that I don't have a clear filter on the front due to the recessed front element. I likely will put one on for dusty conditions, but not so far.

The scarecrow isn't properly centered.
I think that would be an "issue" with the composition which was chosen, and I actually prefer this composition than one that is exactly centred. That is an artistic decision, however. When we usually talk about a centering issues we mean that the lens has different levels on sharpness on different sides or in different corners. You can't tell that from the scarecrow shot as the edges and corners are all blurred.
ThanksFred. Also I think this lens has it characteristics. Now I see, MF is so fun to play with. I’m doing better. :-)
It’s The first MF lens I ever owned.

Resolution and aberration control are definitely its strength! It's nice that's true for all distances including macro thanks for the FLE.

Definitely the right choice as your first even MF lens. It's so easy to nail focus with this lens as the focusing ring is precise and resolution is high at pretty much all distances.
