Went for a hike yesterday taking only this and the Loxia 21. I'm scarily finding I may not need the 24-105 at all with these two, at least for landscapes.

This is such an excellent lens!
The Batis 135/2.8 is just as good as this lens and I'm wondering if the new 110/2.5 can be any better. I will test them side-by-side... I consider them totally different though, one has AF and the other is a 1:1 MF macro lens.
This was my mindset a little having the CV 40 and the Batis 135 which the Batis is just as good. So got the Loxia 85 which I like better not so much for IQ although it’s a laser but the extra length and little less bulk. That was a tough decision selling the 65

You guys can't talk me into another lens...

Actually, I'm very intrigued by the 110 given my love for the 65 and the gushing of some of the other CVs. I'd never really considered a 135 FL as I don't have much interest in portraits, but I'm falling more and more in love with teles in my landscapes. I think I'd probably be best off though using the 100-400 GM though.

For that you could use the 100-400GM or the much lighter 70-300G. The latter is very good stopped down for landscape and tripod use.

yeah, I have the 100-400GM - it's an incredible lens. I just don't take it with as often as I should. But wildlife photo bombs my landscape images too often to not have some reach.
I loved the CV 65 but ended up selling it because:
1) My Sony 90 macro does macro better (more working distance, 1:1 magnification)
2) It's a bit bgger than I would like
3) Most importantly, I had difficulty gapping the 65 with my other lenses.
The Loxia 85 gaps a lot better with those lenses than the CV 65. Guy's recent Big Bronco tests gave me confidence that I wasn't giving up any significant IQ by switching from the CV 65 to the Loxia 85. I wish I could keep both, but I decided to sell the CV 65. I already miss it. The Loxia 85 arrives tomorrow and hopefully the Loxia 25 will arrive soon thereafter.
Got this lens from another member recently and I am liking it very much. Took my son and a couple of his friends to the zoo on the weekend. Here are a few that I liked from that outing.
edit: tried to bring up the shadows on the camera without washing out the blacks.
edit: If you guys were post processing an image like this would you bring up the shadows more? I always feel like I am over processing. I need to get better on that side of the process.

I would as it feels a bit under exposed due to the bright light in the rear of the scene. Everyone's taste is different, however.
Finally getting around to processing and uploading files from the Paint Mines last weekend. I took only the CV 65 and Loxia 21. Here's the winners from the 65 so far.
