p.2 #1 · Leque Island (Short-eared Owls and Northern Harriers)
If anyone is interested in seeing a fuller set of images (48 total), they are here: https://kwilliam8.smugmug.com/Things/Leque-Island-Afternoon/
There is a nice sequence of another interaction between owls, but those are heavily cropped. There are even a couple images of Trumpeter Swans flying over.

Amazing series, Kieth!! Couldn't pick a favorite since they all are! The broad-view photos are a real treat, showing the mountains in the background. Thanks for sharing.

Wowser!!! What was your setup? Tripod? Camo? Car window? Handheld? Blind? These are amazing.
Mike, thanks! I used a tripod with gimbal head. No blind. I knew where to setup, from previous times at this location. After about 20 minutes, the birds don't pay much attention to you.

Wow! Stunning photos. My favs are #1 & #4 from the original set, and the 2nd of the 2nd set. That said, they are all fabulous. Thanks for posting these Keith!

Nice harrier shots, well done Keith. Can I ask, are you using a hide for them or shooting from a vehicle?
Twodees, thanks! As I said above, I used a tripod with a gimbal head. I walked about a half of a mile to a good position at the edge of a very large field. I had to use leg waders, with wader boots, as the field was very wet. I did not use a hide. The raptors there tend to ignore you if you stay put. I probably stayed in the same position for about two hours. All of the images shown in this thread were taken from the exact same spot. I had been there many times before, and knew what was likely a good spot to hang out. Thanks for your interest!
